USA: Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is known the world over for its incredible natural features and abundant wildlife. It was inscribed in 1978 as the 28th site on UNESCO’s World Heritage list, and was the United States' first declared World Heritage Site. Yellowstone is a volcanic "hot spot", encompassing 3,500 square miles that “contain half of all the world's known geothermal features, with more than 10,000 examples. It also has the world's largest concentration of geysers – more than 500 geysers, or two thirds of all those on the planet (UNESCO). Its World Heritage status offers a safeguard for its continued preservation and conservation, and encourages travelers from around the globe to explore and appreciate its natural treasures. XMI was thrilled to document this phenomenal site for archival records and promotional purposes.
