Village Life of the Darien - XplorMor International

Dinner Cooking in a Jungle Kitchen

A child playing at a water basin while chickens peck the ground for insects, and a pot boils over a traditional cooking fire in a thatched, stilted home of Wina, also spelled as Weena and Guina, located deep in the Darien Jungle of eastern Panama. Cloud forests and winding rivers surround the remote village. We were told foreigners hadn't walked into their village for almost 30 years.
